Without intervention, forested parks in Seattle are at risk of losing 70% of tree cover in just 20 years. It's a problem many cities face, with invasive plants taking over and holding down natural growth. A unique government, non-profit, and volunteer partnership is turning things around. The NW Energy Coalition recently brought policy makers, environmental advocates, utilities and businesses to the table for a Clean and Affordable Energy Conference to explore the issue.
